A week from this wednesday I’ll be speaking at the 29th International Technology and people with Disabilities conference in San Diego.
The talk will focus on the limitations of traditional screen readers, and how we can start to move beyond them.
Screen Readers are amazing tools for making computers and mobile devices minimally accessible, but the standard which we set for our tools should be much, much higher.
We should be creating applications and experiences that go beyond plain accessibility and focus instead on usability.
Stay tuned more more updates from the Conference. I’ll be posted slides from the talk…once I’ve made them.
